Access to volunteer services

There are various volunteer services available to newcomers at ECWNC. Community tours, conversation aide, and interpreters are the volunteer supports offered to clients. These are available by appointment.

Community outreach

This service aims to provide information on ECNWC programs and services to employers and businesses, community service providers, faith institutions, organizations, volunteer groups and local governments. The objective is for the dissemination of information about the services available to newcomers, immigrants and refugees to increase awareness and referrals to ECNWC. The Settlement Worker or Settlement Advisor of ECNWC is responsible for this activity.

Resources for the community

The ECNWC provides services to the community, including employers, service providers, government and non-government agencies, schools and others as a settlement service resource and more. The information available includes pre-settlement and settlement planning; cultural literacy, racism and discrimination presentation; printed informational materials on settlement; workshops on various issues newcomers experience during their migration, and more.

Venue for activities for newcomer, immigrants and refugees

ECNWC may be available as a venue for activities for newcomers, immigrants and refugees. The centre has a classroom which can accommodate up to 20 people. This service is available only to non-profit organizations and the activity must be intended to address newcomer needs or issues.
